چکیده

Background: Haemonchus contortus is a blood sucking parasite whose habitat the abomasum of ruminants, which poses significant threat to health and production sheep goats in warm temperate tropical regions. H. leads anemia, hypoproteinemia, reduced exercise tolerance edema subcutaneous tissue that can result death animals. In acute infection, animals suddenly become anemic many are found dead. Even chronic phase, condition accompanied by mild but persistent parasitic burden characterized weight loss, widespread malaise and, some individuals, anemia. The objective this study was identify anthelmintic activity Croton tiglium seeds extract against comparison with drugs used internal external parasites. Methods: A performed evaluate methanolic using an adult worm motility test. Six graduated concentrations (25, 50, 75, 100, 125 150 mg/ml), were tested at different periods changes over time viability worms registered for 2, 4 6 hr. Normal RPMI-1640 medium ivermectin 0.1% as negative positive control, respectively. Also, histological conducted on integumentary occur it observed. Result: At 2 h post treatment, C. (100, 125, mg/ml) have caused significantly higher mortality compared other concentrations, while, similar nematodes within h. lower concentration (25 more lethal than control (RPMI-1640 medium) exposure. Each damages cuticle muscles contortus. increase proportional damage integumentary. present indicated all produced activity.

Anthelmintic activity of Leucaena leucocephala protein extracts on Haemonchus contortus.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of protein extracts obtained from the plant Leucaena leucocephala on the nematode parasite Haemonchus contortus. The seeds, shell and cotyledon of L. leucocephala were separated and their proteins extracted using a sodium phosphate buffer, and named as TE (total seed extract), SE (shell extract) and CE (cotyledon extract). Soluble protein ...

In vitro potential anthelmintic activity of Biophytum petersianum on Haemonchus contortus

Aim Haemonchus contortus is a major problem in small ruminants in Indonesia. The frequent use of the anthelmintic drugs has given rise to drug-resistant populations which increase the need for new anthelminthic compounds, particularly from endemic plants. This study evaluated the in vitro effects of Biophytum petersianum crude aqueous extract (BAE) as an anthelmintic compound against H. contort...

Anthelmintic activity of Cymbopogon citratus against Haemonchus contortus.

Parasitic nematodes are of major economic importance in livestock. An alternative for the control of parasites is phytotherapy. This study evaluated the efficacy of Cymbopogon citratus decoction (CcD), C. citratus essential oil (CcEo) and citral against Haemonchus contortus using in vitro egg hatch test (EHT) and larval development test (LDT) and an in vivo test using a Meriones unguiculatus (g...
